I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out

Are you aware that you can cry out to the Lord and He will listen to you? Perhaps the time we have spent on the Lord’s Path makes us see as normal the eternal truth that He promised to be with us until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20). It is important that we review the lives of men of faith like David, in order to give our faith a little fuel.

King David in the third Psalm makes an incredible prayer to God as he was being persecuted by his son Absalom at the time (2 Samuel 15:13-37), and I know that this fervent prayer will somehow fan the flame in you to substantially trust in the Lord Jesus Christ:

3 But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.

5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

Psalm: 3-6

When you are in trials, in life’s difficulties, and you feel like there is no escape, what do you do? Is God your refuge? David felt that way when he was persecuted by his own son, however, he was very clear that running into the arms of God was the feasible option, that is why he says: “I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.”

Dear reader, our Lord takes care of the birds and is aware of each one of them (Matthew 6:26), how much more of us who are His children bought at a high price? May the Lord be your strength on this day, your shield, your strong rock and the one who lifts up your head.
