Praise for the mercy of the Lord

Let us sing praises for His great mercy, His mercies are new every day, so give thanks to God and praise His Name above all things. Let’s not get weary of singing psalms to our God.

His mercy is so great that it sustains us day after day, that sometimes we sin against God and His mercy helps us to be forgiven, to be renewed by God, so that we can be accepted before God. That is why we must sing to God in honor of Him, giving praises that only come out of our hearts. Let’s not give praise to God just to fulfill that requirement, let’s give praise to Him from the heart, only God is worthy of deserving all praise, glory and majesty.

As we read the psalms, we see that each author of this book day after day felt that he had to thank God, to praise Him, to glorify His Name, and this is what we should do. Let us be grateful from the heart.

1 O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.

2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.

Psalm 117:1-2

We can observe that the previous psalm urges all people, nation and tribe to praise God, that is, to sing, exalt God who is on high, that His power and His mercy guide us and sustain us. Sing all before God because His mercy is great for each one of us.

Let us recognize His great power and majesty, let us not forget that the power belongs to God and His mercy accompanies us. Glorified be God forever.
