Bless our God

Why not bless our God, if He has always been good to us? From the beginning of our existence, God has shown His goodness in countless ways. He is the Creator of everything that surrounds us: the heavens, the earth, the seas, the mountains, and every living being. Nothing exists by chance; everything was formed by His powerful Word. His right hand sustains us, protects us, and keeps us standing even when we feel weak or incapable of continuing.

To bless God is not a strange or exaggerated act; it is the most logical response of a heart that understands who God is and what He has done. When we bless the Lord, we are not adding anything to His greatness, but we are recognizing it. God does not need our praise to remain sovereign, yet He invites us to bless Him because worship transforms us. It aligns our hearts with truth and reminds us that our lives depend entirely on Him.

He deserves everything from us. He deserves that His name be exalted to the ends of the earth, that His glory be proclaimed among all nations, and that His mighty works be announced throughout the world. There is no other like Him. No other god can create, sustain, forgive, restore, and save as He does. All false gods are powerless, silent, and lifeless, but our God is living, active, and reigning forever.

Blessing God is more than saying words; it is an attitude of the soul. It is a life that acknowledges that everything good comes from Him. When we bless the Lord, we are declaring that He is worthy of honor, glory, and praise regardless of circumstances. Whether we are in moments of abundance or in times of lack, our praise should remain firm, because God does not change.

Bless the Lord with songs of joy, because He lives and reigns forever. Our God is not distant or indifferent; He dwells in the heavens, yet He is attentive to His people. He is the Lamb that was slain on the cross, who gave His life for sinners, and who now reigns in glory. Day after day, He watches over us, hears our prayers, and extends His mercy toward us. How could our souls remain silent before such grace?

Every song we offer to God should be filled with gratitude and reverence. Singing is not merely a musical act; it is a spiritual declaration. When we sing to the Lord, we proclaim His faithfulness, His love, and His power. Songs of joy are a response to the salvation we have received, to the forgiveness of our sins, and to the hope of eternal life.

May my song be a song of great joy, praising my God with sincerity. Let my worship reflect the understanding that God must be honored with my best praise. Worship should never be careless or empty; it should come from a heart that knows who God is. Excellence in worship is not about perfection, but about intention—giving God the best we have because He deserves it.

Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord, which by night stand in the house of the Lord.

Psalm 134:1

Psalm 134 is a short but powerful psalm. It is a call to bless the Lord, especially directed toward His servants who stand in His house by night. This image reminds us that worship is not limited to a specific time or moment. God deserves praise day and night, in public and in private, when others see us and when no one is watching.

Those who served in the temple by night had a unique responsibility. While others slept, they remained attentive in God’s presence. In the same way, believers today are called to maintain a posture of worship at all times. Even in the darkest moments of life, even when the night feels long and heavy, we are invited to bless the Lord.

By praising and singing to Him with joy, we declare that God is the source of our joy. True joy does not come from circumstances, possessions, or achievements; it comes from knowing God. This joy flows through our entire being and sustains us when external situations are difficult.

Let us not focus on difficulties. Trials and hardships are real, but they should not silence our praise. Instead of fixing our eyes on problems, let us raise our hands and tell the Lord how important He is to us. Praise shifts our perspective. It reminds us that God is greater than any challenge we face.

God is above all false gods, above every human system, ideology, or power that claims authority. False gods cannot hear, cannot save, and cannot sustain. Our God, however, is real. He acts in history, intervenes in our lives, and reveals Himself through His Word. He is still God, yesterday, today, and forever.

Because of who He is, we must give Him worship that comes from the soul, the mind, and the heart. True worship is holistic; it involves our thoughts, our emotions, and our will. It is not limited to songs sung in a building, but it extends to how we live, how we speak, and how we treat others.

We have such a great privilege as believers. God did not choose us because of our merit or goodness. He knew our weaknesses, our failures, and our sins, yet He chose us and had mercy on us. This mercy should never cease to amaze us. If God had dealt with us according to our sins, none of us would stand. But He chose grace, forgiveness, and restoration.

Because of this mercy, God has been kind in a great way with every being He has created. His patience, compassion, and love are evident throughout history and in our personal lives. Every day we wake up is proof of His kindness. Every opportunity to repent and draw closer to Him is an expression of His grace.

Therefore, let us bless the Lord continually. Let our mouths be filled with praise, our hearts with gratitude, and our lives with obedience. Let us never grow tired of worshiping the God who has done so much for us.

May our praise rise like incense before Him, pleasing and sincere. May our songs reflect the joy of salvation and the hope we have in Christ. And may everything we do, in word and in deed, bring glory to the name of the Lord, now and forever.

Praise God because His faithfulness is forever
We will sing and praise Your might
