In this psalm we will talk about the promise that David makes before the Lord to continue walking straight before Him. David knew that if he promised to stand firm, he had to keep his promise. That is why we see that he says: “I will not know a wicked person.”
The psalmist knew that a just measure consisted in choosing well what he would put before his eyes. This decision allowed him to distance himself from the wicked and those who were lustful.
To set one’s eyes on unjust things is to commit sin before the Lord. The psalmist David fled from these things, that is why he utters these words:
A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Psalm 101:4
David teaches us that we must not put unrighteous things before our eyes. Rather, we must choose wisely what we put before our eyes, for if we act with a wicked mind, we will commit sin before the Lord.
It is important to be wise in choosing what we put in our path and before our eyes. Dear friend, pay attention to this message and be prudent, for God’s eyes are upon all, and He is righteous.
