Have you heard the anthem of Israel? Part of its lyrics say: “Our hope will not have been lost; the hope of two thousand years, to be a free people in our land: The land of Zion and Jerusalem. To be a free people in our land: The land of Zion and Jerusalem.”
The people of Israel suffered the yoke of Egypt and were held captive several times over the years, but today they can sing of their freedom. And how many more can sing of their freedom by being saved by the blood that weighs more than Abel’s? Christ has set us free, and we can sing freedom thanks to that enormous sacrifice on the cross.
