Mariah Carey has been recognized throughout her career as a pop star, with various successes, winning awards and even records in the Guinness Book.
In September Mariah Carey launched her book entitled “The Meaning of Mariah Carey”, where she recounts her encounter with God and how He saved her life.
Apparently, this new facet of her life is only new to us, as the artist recounts how fame and her career have interrupted God’s calling on her life since her youth.
The artist also spoke of how God and His grace were indispensable during her childhood, when she faced adversity. That is why in 1993 she wrote a song called “Anytime you need a friend”, a song that summarized a bit of her relationship with God.
The singer concluded by mentioning how some tried to kill her spirit, but the Lord gave her hope:
Along the way I received signs of hope, but mainly I faced chaos and calamity, sadness and betrayals to derail me, some almost killed me or worse, almost killed my spirit.
She also mentioned the following verse from the Bible:
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
