Jim Caviezel, an actor who rose to fame in 2004 for his role as Jesus in the Mel Gibson-directed film “The Passion of the Christ,” spoke about his film about persecuted Christians in the Middle East.
The film is titled Infidel and will be released in the United States on September 18. It has been described as a “contemporary Middle Eastern thriller”, and its story is about an American kidnapped while participating in a conference in Cairo, who ends up imprisoned in Iran on charges of espionage.
“Infidel” deals with the persecution of Christians in the Middle East. The actor said revealing the intention of the film:
The barbaric persecution of Christians continues today. The goal would be to create a sense of urgency and relevance for Christians and non-Christians who should be involved in this issue.
Caviezel believes it is essential that Christians heed these disturbing acts of persecution and act.
