This Psalm presents us with only one God

Throughout its existence, the human being has created gods, from a stick, the elements (earth, water, fire), the stars, to whatever else they can think of. But, regardless of this, the Bible teaches us that there is only one true God, who is our beloved Lord.

Psalm 115, which is what we will use in this article, is a Psalm that I like as it begins, because it speaks of people getting upset asking where our God is, as today, we see diseases, hunger, wars , etc. and there people question our faith, and this should not weaken us, but we must continue to believe that our God is in heaven:

2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Psalm 115:2-3

Now, the question for those who put their faith in anything but God is, where are their gods? For the psalmist describes all their gods in a simple way:

4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

Psalm 115: 4-8

These idols are false, and that is why we put our trust in the Almighty God, in the strong and brave God, who can listen, speak and do as He wishes.
