During an interview that Forbes made last Tuesday to Kanye West, he told the magazine that the Bible is better than Pinterest, that it serves him as inspiration.
Kanye West said: “I will be working on designs for the home and looking at references from three thousand years ago and reading the old testament at the same time”. Then he added: “So it is like a soundtrack of the visual of the forms and the ideas and ideals of what we will be creating. To many of my creative friends, I tell them that the Bible is better than Pinterest. You can bring something into the space and time we exist while reflecting thousands of years of truth”.
Then the rap star read Leviticus 19:19 to the interviewer, it says: “Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee”.
Kanye West tells his apparel team that the clothes they wear are of a single material. He remembers sending a manager with whom he worked a really rough email about how every time he wore that wool jacket with leather sleeves, it cost culture ten years. Now he can send him the verse of the Bible that says ‘and you will not wear clothes with a mixture of threads’. Kanye said.
What Kanye West has not realized is that these are laws for the people of Israel and that we are not under the yoke of that law because today we live by grace. See the full interview below:
