On May 17 the American Christian singer Jeremy Camp released his single Dead Man Walking, and this song is based on Colossians 2:13
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,
According to the same singer, the message of this new single reflects the message of his upcoming album and film True hope is found only in Christ. Jeremy Camp’s next album will be released in the fall and the film is based on his 2003 song I Still Believe. The film will be filmed this summer and will be in the theaters in 2020.
The life of Jeremy Camp has not been simple. The song I Still Believe, which served as inspiration for his film was written after his first wife died of cancer. And as for the song Dead Man Walking and the new album that will come out, these were recorded at a time when he felt spiritually dead but God changed him radically. That’s why, Jeremy Camp explains that Dead Man Walking is a song of thanks that, although once he was a “walking dead man”, he is now a man “walking with God”.
Dead Man Walking lyrics:
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man walking walking walking
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man walking walking walking
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man
I see you standing there but you’re already gone
I’m holding your hand but you’re barely holding on
I’m kissing your lips but it just don’t feel the same
Am I dead man now, left living with the blame
Oh I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man walking walking walking
Already broken, already gone
Already know you’re moving on
I’m a breathing, talking
Dead man, walking
Already see it, in your face
Already someone, in my place
I’m a breathing, talking
Dead man, walking
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man walking walking walking
I hear the angels talking talking talking
Now I’m a dead man
We’re in the same room just one million miles away
With all these books around but we ain’t go two words to say
Am I a dead man now, left living with the shame?
I’m
